Mood Board Monday

Hi guys!

I can’t believe it but this community here on my blog is growing! I didn’t even think of 10 followers but we’re already at 26! Thank you all so much! It mans so much to me!

I don’t know if I have mentioned it before but I dream of a creative carreer! Something with design and communcation…
Anyways: I realized that mood boards are quite a thing in the creative sector and I love it so I thought – why not starting a “moodboard monday” on my blog?

For everyone whos wondering “what the fuck is a mood board??” here’s a definition:

A mood board is a type of collage consisting of images, text, and samples of objects in a composition. It can be based upon a set topic or can be any material chosen at random.
A mood board can be used to give a general idea of a topic that you were given […]. They may be physical or digital, and can be “extremely effective” presentation tools.

Graphic designers, interior designers, industrial designers, photographers and other creative artists use mood boards to visually illustrate the style they wish to pursue. However, they can also be used by design professionals to visually explain a certain style of writing, or an imaginary setting for a storyline.

In short, mood boards are not limited to visual subjects, but serve as a visual tool to quickly inform others of the overall “feel” (or “flow”) of an idea. In creative processes, mood boards can balance coordination and creative freedom.

This is the “official” definition I found. However, mood boards can also just be collages to visualise a certain mood or feeling!

For this first post in this category, I thought it would be nice to also give you a real feeling for mood boards by showing you some of my favourites!

So here are 3 of my favourite mood boards:

This fits so good to today! This day is so cloudy and rainy and right now there’s this specific smell in the air, that only exists after it has rained! You can find thiis mood board here.

I really like this because of its purity! You can find the original website here.

I really really like those mood / brand boards! They always make it so clear what the brand is about and what feeling the want you to have!

You can find this here.

My moodboards will look a bit different but that’s good! Every mood board has a different personality hence it naturally looks different everytime!

I’m excited for this!

Banana And Dates Smoothie – A Recipe

Hello everybody!
Trying to be active on this blog – take 173829…
I have so many ideas but they always have to wait because…you know life happens.

But because I love blogging and taking pictures: I’m back!

Lately the weather was so sunny and amazing and it really made me dream a bit about ice cream and summer. Although I do not like the typical hot summer weather I have to admit that I love everything else summer brings with it!
But as it is still the beginning of spring and it’s still a bit too cold to eat ice cream outside, I decided to make me a nice smoothie bowl!

I came across the following smoothie recipe on Pinterest and the lovely “Dinchen” from “dinchensworld” was the one who posted it there! Originally the recipe is by Ella (Deliciously Ella) and let me tell you: you all need to try this one!

By the way: I’m very sorry for these bad pictures but I’m still learning how to make my blog photos POP. In addition I currently do not own a good camera so these pictures were taken with my iPhone and somehow despite having great light and all the photos turned out bad.
So: sorry for that – working on it!

Coming back to the recipe:

2 ripe bananas
400 ml cold almond milk
3 dried dates
2 tblsp. almond butter
1 tblsp. cinnamon

This is the original recipe from “dinchensworld”. I also added 2 tblsp. honey, some more cinnamon (because I just love cinnamon) and I didn’t use dried dates but “fresh” ones.
The smoothie turned out to be so delicious!!

I tried to decorate it and make it look all cute but I didn’t have fresh berries so I had to take some dried ones..

This smoothie is perfect for spring: it’s sweet and quite refreshing and it really fills you so you won’t be hungry for quite some time afterwards!

I’m really thrilled to try other smoothie recipes!!!

Have a good day!

10 things I can’t live without!

I know, I know: a topic as boring as it can get! Every blogger on this planet did this blog post before and yet I am dumb (or brave enough) to try and  excite you with my ten most loved things.

They may not all be material things but I think that’s ok.

Before I start, I guess I have to explain myself.

I’ve fallen into a hole where there is no creativity and Im yet to crawl out of it.
So no inspiration. This also means: no cool blog posts and no cool photos.
And that’s bad…

What do bloggers do when they can’t think of ONE thing to write?
Right! – They look what their lovely blogger colleagues write and try to get some inspiration out of that.

But coming back to our topic: 10 things I can’t live without!

  1. First things first: Since the first time I watched “Pride and Prejudice” with Keira Knightley I’ve been helplessly in love. Seriously! I can’t live without the story and this specific movie! Everything about all those actors is perfect and I will never not cry of happiness! If you don’t know the 2005 movie version of Jane Austen’s work, I highly recommend watching it! (You’ll find a link to amazon here)
  2. Second on the list MUST be: tea.
I wouldn’t want to live in a world where there’s no tea. Every British person will hate me for this but besides my love for black tea (with or without milk and honey), I also have a great love for a tea named “caramel apple pie” (it’s a product by Teekanne and it’s delicious, I swear!). I love every single tea on this planet but those two must have to be my two favourites!

By the way: are you a tea or a coffee person? Personally, I love both. But if I had to choose it would be tea. It’s just so cozy and warming!

  3. Another thing I will never not love is music. I love singing and I’m really interested in listening to new songs and bands. It helps me to relax, concentrate and to find inspiration.
  4. You know it had to appear somewhere on this list. And yep, here it comes: Food.
But frankly: who DOESN’T love to eat? Whether it is the new restaurant in your town or a new recipe or just your favourite dish that your granny always cooks for you. Food makes you feel good and who doesn’t want to feel good. I specifically love curries, selfmade pizza, fish and Pho.

What are your most favourite dishes?

  5. I could be really cheesy now and say: my boyfriend. But I’m not that kind of girl and so I’ll say: I couldn’t live without love and affection. Just laying there and cuddling with somebody who loves you and who you love ist just one of the most precious things in the world. And I wouldn’t wanna miss it!
  6. I wouldn’t say I’m addicted to make up but I’d say I like it pretty much. I love transforming myself and looking different every day. Don’t get me wrong: I like myself barefaced as much as I like myself glammed up but there’s just something about that daily change that gets me. No matter what mood I’m in: my make up will represent it and I love that! Feel like the devil itself? No problem! – Here you have the smokiest eyes! Wanna wing it? – Wing it!
  7. Yes, you probably already know what the next point will be: coffee.
As I mentioned above: tea is my greater love. But on a really shitty Monday, where everything goes wrong (even in the morning) there’s no way I will NOT have a cup of strong coffee. Because you do not want to witness what happens on shitty days where there is no time for coffee…
  8. I don’t know how many read my blog but 90% of all the girls will probably have the same problem: I freeze. Not just in winter. Always! So cozy sweaters are a real MUST for me. Without I turn into an ice cube in seconds. Also they are pretty and comfy and who doesn’t like such things? So let’s put cozy sweaters right on our list!
  9. One thing I also need are really big blankets. Not those average ones where one person has enough space. NO. I want and need a blanket that could warm 5 people. For myself. Just because.
  10. Last but not least: tulips!
They are my favourite flowers and I’m so sad that they don’t grow all year round…
But also I’m very lucky to be born in April. That’s when you can get tulips (I mean you can buy some from January till the end of April but it’s just some kind of extra birthday present to me). I love how happy and fresh  they make everything look. So yep! They should definitely have there place on my “Survival List”!

So those where my top ten things I couldn’t live without!
What are your Top 10? Tell me in the comments!
I’d love to hear about your favourite things!

Follow me to: Hamburg

Hello everyone!

If you follow me on Instagram (which you should!!…please !!) you were able to follow me around my journey to Hamburg, Germany. One thing was probably hard to overlook: that I fell completely in love with this wonderful city.

I didn’t know that I could love a place so much but Hamburg really has a spirit that got me right away!
We stayed at a lovely Hotel called “Wedina”. It’s located in the neighborhood of “St.Georg” and the rooms are spread over a few smaller houses. The rooms are super lovely and it’s near the central station and has a bus station just around the corner which makes it super easy to get around!

On our first day we strolled around the streets and did a bit of shopping here and there.
One of the bigger shopping streets is near the central station and is called “Mönkebergstraße” or just “Mö”. We also had a look at the town hall and let me tell you that this is the prettiest building I’ve seen in a long time!

Just across the street you’ll find the “Café Paris” which is lovely and they have really good macarons – pay them a visit next time your in Hamburg!

Our next stop was the “Alsterhaus” – a luxury shopping mall. As those things are just too expensive to buy just for fun we just looked around. There are all the labels and the clothes are well chosen. You should check that out as well (if you promise me to not start crying because of the prices…). Near the town hall there’s also the “Alsterpassage” wich is  a lovely little passage with some shops. The ceilings are beautifully decorated and painted so thats defintely a spot to shoot some insta-worthy pictures!

Aren’t those teddy bears at Godiva’s cute?
Anyway: Next on our list was – of course – the “Speicherstadt”. I’ve heard only magical things about it and it was just so beautiful! I highly recommend going there. No matter the weather! It’s beautiful even if it’s raining!

ISN’T THAT AMAZING!? I fell completely in love with this neighborhood!

Well…to be honest i’m in love with the whole, entire city but I guess I’ve wrote that a million times before in this post…!

On our last day we did some cultural stuff and went to see the “Kunsthalle” which has a large collection of art works from the past and also the present! So if you’re interested in art – try it out! Besides that Hamburg has a lot of other galeries and art collections so it won’t be boring!

Unfortunately we didn’t get to see more because we had other reasons to go to Hamburg in the first place! But I’ll sure come back as soon as possible !

So I hope you liked this post!
Loved to get some feedback!

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

Processed with VSCO with c2 preset

Hello everybody!

I know…I do not post very frequently and I’m sorry for that. Although I love to write it is somehow really hard for me to find topics to write about…
Maybe I should jump into this whole “28 days blog post challenge”, too.
I’ll think about it for today!

Anyways- back to our main topic for today: Cupcakes! Yummmm.
I’m not a very passionate baker but since discovering Pinterest I’ve come across so many delicious recipes and pictures….so it wasn’t really a choice. I HAD to get into baking!
And what’s better than cute pink cupcakes for Valentine’s Day?

I found the recipe on Pinterest and this blog and i absolutely loved it!

Processed with VSCO with c3 preset

They were really easy to make, nice and creamy! Wanna see the recipe?

Lemon-Cupcakes with a raspberry-butter creme

(I got 24 muffins out of the dough and the creme was more than enough!)

for the dough:

250 grams flour
3 tea spoons baking powder
125 grams brown sugar
3 medium sized eggs
1/4 litres milk
75 ml sunflower oil
1 table spoon of lemon juice
lemon zest of one lemon (attrited)

for the frosting:

200 grams raspberry jelly
500 grams smooth butter
200 grams powdered sugar

Preheat the oven to 175°C.

First, mix together the sugar, baking powder, salt, flour and lemon zest. In another bowl, mix the milk, lemon juice and the eggs.
Put the two mixtures together and quickly mix them.
Fill the dough into some muffin trays and put them in the oven for about 20 minutes!

For the frosting just froth up (is that right? can I say that in english??) the butter and powdered sugar until it’s all white and creamy! (The butter has to be REALLY smooth so make sure you put it out of the fridge early enough!)
Then mix it together with the raspberry jelly!

Wait until the muffins have cooled down and decorate them with the frosting!

I asked my parents to rate them on a scale from 1 to 10 and they gave them a 7-8.
Not because they didn’t taste good but because of the frosting. My mum said that it was too oily. So if you want a less oily frosting, you may try a cream cheese based frosting!
At least that’s what I’ll do next time.
All in all these cupcakes look good, taste good and are easy to make, so you should definetely try them some time (maybe for your bae?).

If you liked this post I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

My resolution for 2017 and why I still “do this to myself”

Uggghh. You hate it. I hate it. THE most annoying sentence that every person on this planet has at least said once in their life: “New year, new me!”.

Yup, I still hate it!

However many people link this sentence to resolutions itself and hate them, too. And that’s wrong (at least for me).

Personally, I think that resolutions are great.

You challenge yourself and keep learning new things. And you might change throughout such a challenge. But you can’t except your resolutions to work, if you want to start with a new you.

“New year, new me” is an excuse for being who you are. You’ll never get the motivation, inspiration or courage you need to change yourself with this attitude.

I made silly and unrealistic resolutions year after year. Needless to say, it never worked and I gave up weeks or even days after New Year’s Eve.

All you need to keep your resolutions going is a realistic mindset and self-love!

If you really want to change yourself or one of you habits you need to stop thinking that the person you are now is bad or wrong. Instead of waiting and hoping to becoma another version of yourself, work with the person you currently are. learn to love this person!

2016 was a great game changer for me. I met a person who loves me as I am and doesn’t want to change a BIT about myself. I learned to accept and respect myself and my body. I realised that it is not about torturing yourself or worrying and crying. It’s not about completely focusing on this one main goal. It’s about living life and doing things that make you feel alive.

The reason I love resolutions is, that I love a good challenge. You shouldn’t load yourself up with thousands of resolutions. One simple thing you want to change about yourself is perfectly enough.

I want to get fit and healthy. That’s my one resolution for 2017. Of course, getting fit is linked to several things (eating healthy, working out and having a happy lifestyle) but there’s just one unapologetic goal in my head! There are no other silly resolutions that distract me from my main goal and that makes it easier to focus on it. Having one goal makes it easier to enjoy life in between. You’ll never be stressed out because you don’t have to run after goals and things you all  want to achieve in this year. You’ll do you and it’ll bring you closer to your goal every day. With this I mean that you should learn about balance. For me getting fit doesn’t mean to cut out all of the junk food and sweets. if i want some of that I’ll treat myself to it. And if I feel like working out a little longer that day – I’ll do it!

Pick out the most urgent wish out of all your “resolutions” and let the other “goals” rest. Work on yourself step after step.

Don’t give up on resolutions. Give up on the thought of forcing yourself to change. If you are struggling with accepting yourself, I have a great inspiration for your 2017 resolution: learn to love yourself and watch yourself change!

Clean your mind. Throw all of that negativity out of your head and start being yourself. Make yourself happy and free in 2017.

And feel free to tell me your resolution for this new year!

Haul #1: Naturkosmetik

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset
