Mood Board Monday

Hi guys!

I can’t believe it but this community here on my blog is growing! I didn’t even think of 10 followers but we’re already at 26! Thank you all so much! It mans so much to me!

I don’t know if I have mentioned it before but I dream of a creative carreer! Something with design and communcation…
Anyways: I realized that mood boards are quite a thing in the creative sector and I love it so I thought – why not starting a “moodboard monday” on my blog?

For everyone whos wondering “what the fuck is a mood board??” here’s a definition:

A mood board is a type of collage consisting of images, text, and samples of objects in a composition. It can be based upon a set topic or can be any material chosen at random.
A mood board can be used to give a general idea of a topic that you were given […]. They may be physical or digital, and can be “extremely effective” presentation tools.

Graphic designers, interior designers, industrial designers, photographers and other creative artists use mood boards to visually illustrate the style they wish to pursue. However, they can also be used by design professionals to visually explain a certain style of writing, or an imaginary setting for a storyline.

In short, mood boards are not limited to visual subjects, but serve as a visual tool to quickly inform others of the overall “feel” (or “flow”) of an idea. In creative processes, mood boards can balance coordination and creative freedom.

This is the “official” definition I found. However, mood boards can also just be collages to visualise a certain mood or feeling!

For this first post in this category, I thought it would be nice to also give you a real feeling for mood boards by showing you some of my favourites!

So here are 3 of my favourite mood boards:

This fits so good to today! This day is so cloudy and rainy and right now there’s this specific smell in the air, that only exists after it has rained! You can find thiis mood board here.

I really like this because of its purity! You can find the original website here.

I really really like those mood / brand boards! They always make it so clear what the brand is about and what feeling the want you to have!

You can find this here.

My moodboards will look a bit different but that’s good! Every mood board has a different personality hence it naturally looks different everytime!

I’m excited for this!

Banana And Dates Smoothie – A Recipe

Hello everybody!
Trying to be active on this blog – take 173829…
I have so many ideas but they always have to wait because…you know life happens.

But because I love blogging and taking pictures: I’m back!

Lately the weather was so sunny and amazing and it really made me dream a bit about ice cream and summer. Although I do not like the typical hot summer weather I have to admit that I love everything else summer brings with it!
But as it is still the beginning of spring and it’s still a bit too cold to eat ice cream outside, I decided to make me a nice smoothie bowl!

I came across the following smoothie recipe on Pinterest and the lovely “Dinchen” from “dinchensworld” was the one who posted it there! Originally the recipe is by Ella (Deliciously Ella) and let me tell you: you all need to try this one!

By the way: I’m very sorry for these bad pictures but I’m still learning how to make my blog photos POP. In addition I currently do not own a good camera so these pictures were taken with my iPhone and somehow despite having great light and all the photos turned out bad.
So: sorry for that – working on it!

Coming back to the recipe:

2 ripe bananas
400 ml cold almond milk
3 dried dates
2 tblsp. almond butter
1 tblsp. cinnamon

This is the original recipe from “dinchensworld”. I also added 2 tblsp. honey, some more cinnamon (because I just love cinnamon) and I didn’t use dried dates but “fresh” ones.
The smoothie turned out to be so delicious!!

I tried to decorate it and make it look all cute but I didn’t have fresh berries so I had to take some dried ones..

This smoothie is perfect for spring: it’s sweet and quite refreshing and it really fills you so you won’t be hungry for quite some time afterwards!

I’m really thrilled to try other smoothie recipes!!!

Have a good day!

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

Processed with VSCO with c2 preset

Hello everybody!

I know…I do not post very frequently and I’m sorry for that. Although I love to write it is somehow really hard for me to find topics to write about…
Maybe I should jump into this whole “28 days blog post challenge”, too.
I’ll think about it for today!

Anyways- back to our main topic for today: Cupcakes! Yummmm.
I’m not a very passionate baker but since discovering Pinterest I’ve come across so many delicious recipes and pictures….so it wasn’t really a choice. I HAD to get into baking!
And what’s better than cute pink cupcakes for Valentine’s Day?

I found the recipe on Pinterest and this blog and i absolutely loved it!

Processed with VSCO with c3 preset

They were really easy to make, nice and creamy! Wanna see the recipe?

Lemon-Cupcakes with a raspberry-butter creme

(I got 24 muffins out of the dough and the creme was more than enough!)

for the dough:

250 grams flour
3 tea spoons baking powder
125 grams brown sugar
3 medium sized eggs
1/4 litres milk
75 ml sunflower oil
1 table spoon of lemon juice
lemon zest of one lemon (attrited)

for the frosting:

200 grams raspberry jelly
500 grams smooth butter
200 grams powdered sugar

Preheat the oven to 175°C.

First, mix together the sugar, baking powder, salt, flour and lemon zest. In another bowl, mix the milk, lemon juice and the eggs.
Put the two mixtures together and quickly mix them.
Fill the dough into some muffin trays and put them in the oven for about 20 minutes!

For the frosting just froth up (is that right? can I say that in english??) the butter and powdered sugar until it’s all white and creamy! (The butter has to be REALLY smooth so make sure you put it out of the fridge early enough!)
Then mix it together with the raspberry jelly!

Wait until the muffins have cooled down and decorate them with the frosting!

I asked my parents to rate them on a scale from 1 to 10 and they gave them a 7-8.
Not because they didn’t taste good but because of the frosting. My mum said that it was too oily. So if you want a less oily frosting, you may try a cream cheese based frosting!
At least that’s what I’ll do next time.
All in all these cupcakes look good, taste good and are easy to make, so you should definetely try them some time (maybe for your bae?).

If you liked this post I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

My resolution for 2017 and why I still “do this to myself”

Uggghh. You hate it. I hate it. THE most annoying sentence that every person on this planet has at least said once in their life: “New year, new me!”.

Yup, I still hate it!

However many people link this sentence to resolutions itself and hate them, too. And that’s wrong (at least for me).

Personally, I think that resolutions are great.

You challenge yourself and keep learning new things. And you might change throughout such a challenge. But you can’t except your resolutions to work, if you want to start with a new you.

“New year, new me” is an excuse for being who you are. You’ll never get the motivation, inspiration or courage you need to change yourself with this attitude.

I made silly and unrealistic resolutions year after year. Needless to say, it never worked and I gave up weeks or even days after New Year’s Eve.

All you need to keep your resolutions going is a realistic mindset and self-love!

If you really want to change yourself or one of you habits you need to stop thinking that the person you are now is bad or wrong. Instead of waiting and hoping to becoma another version of yourself, work with the person you currently are. learn to love this person!

2016 was a great game changer for me. I met a person who loves me as I am and doesn’t want to change a BIT about myself. I learned to accept and respect myself and my body. I realised that it is not about torturing yourself or worrying and crying. It’s not about completely focusing on this one main goal. It’s about living life and doing things that make you feel alive.

The reason I love resolutions is, that I love a good challenge. You shouldn’t load yourself up with thousands of resolutions. One simple thing you want to change about yourself is perfectly enough.

I want to get fit and healthy. That’s my one resolution for 2017. Of course, getting fit is linked to several things (eating healthy, working out and having a happy lifestyle) but there’s just one unapologetic goal in my head! There are no other silly resolutions that distract me from my main goal and that makes it easier to focus on it. Having one goal makes it easier to enjoy life in between. You’ll never be stressed out because you don’t have to run after goals and things you all  want to achieve in this year. You’ll do you and it’ll bring you closer to your goal every day. With this I mean that you should learn about balance. For me getting fit doesn’t mean to cut out all of the junk food and sweets. if i want some of that I’ll treat myself to it. And if I feel like working out a little longer that day – I’ll do it!

Pick out the most urgent wish out of all your “resolutions” and let the other “goals” rest. Work on yourself step after step.

Don’t give up on resolutions. Give up on the thought of forcing yourself to change. If you are struggling with accepting yourself, I have a great inspiration for your 2017 resolution: learn to love yourself and watch yourself change!

Clean your mind. Throw all of that negativity out of your head and start being yourself. Make yourself happy and free in 2017.

And feel free to tell me your resolution for this new year!

Haul #1: Naturkosmetik

DIY christmas decorations

Long time no see, right?

I’m sorry that this blog was so silent. It’s pretty hard to get inspiration out of ordinary things but I believe  that you can practice that!
Until then I’ll have to stick to my not so regular incoming ideas.

One of those ideas was to finally do some christmas decorations by myself.
My mum and I equally love interior and she always manages to transform our home into something different every time she decorates it!
I wanted to do that, too!
So, this year I decided to visit some interior shops and made two advent wreaths: one for my boyfriend and another one for me.
The one I created for my boyfriend is a bit less stylish and more calm and elegant with almost no colours. I wanted it to fit a man’s style and it shouldn’t be too flipped out.

For my own wreath I wanted to bring some colour into my room!
Usually I’m not the one to pick colourful objects, fashion pieces etc.
But as I stood in front of all those home accessoires I knew it had to be something special!
At first I wanted to go for a traditional advent wreath with four candles like the one I just showed you. But I knew where I wanted the decoration to stand and the spot would be too small. SO instead, I went with just one candle.

I found everything I needed for the two advent wreaths at DEPOT
It’s a german interior shop an I absolutely love it!
If you like this post and my “creations” leave me some comments!
And if you’re interested in similar decorations objects feel free to mention it and I’ll be happy to search the whole internet 🙂

Until then!
Love, Franziska!

How to find new spots in your town everyday

I bet you know this struggle: Your sitting at home and waiting (im)patiently for your holiday to arrive. You’re looking forward to exploring unknown cities and finding cute stores.

What if  I told you that you can have all that in your home town too?

I know it sounds boring and you think that you know everything about your city.
But did you look at your home town the way tourists do?
Did you try to explore some new spots? Hidden treasures? Cute stores?

What if I told you to get up now and take a long stroll through your city?

My boyfriend and I love to do new stuff now and then. We’re living in a pretty small town and we thought that we knew all the good restaurants, cool stores and beautiful spots. But last time we went for one of our date nights we were just so sick of all these spots. And suddendly I had an idea: I just looked up some spots on tripadvisor. Sure, the major spots that were praised on there we already knew. But then we read about a small chapel in the middle of the city centre. We’ve never heard of it so we were thrilled to visit it. (We’re both not religious at all but we love beautiful and stunning spots!)

And what can I say: We were rewarded! The “Old Chapel” is the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen.

Source: Travel Additcs

Unfortunately I couldn’t use my own pictures as the quality was not good enough. I will definetely return to this chapel so I’ll update this post with my own pictures soon!

We were stunned! Such a beautiful spot in the heart of our city…and we’ve never heard of it!

SO: Next time you don’t know what to do grab your phone and let it lead you to the most amazing spots you didn’t know exist!

Be a tourist in yur own town. Give it a shot! It doesn’t cost anything (well most of the time if you don’t want to visit any museums or galleries). You won’t have to pack a heavy bag and go to the end of the world but you’ll still feel like you’re somewhere else.

Next time you’re bored check out the new jewellery shop around the corner or visit the art gallery you’ve heard about. It’ll be worth it!

I’d love to hear about your adventures! So whenever you read this post and get inspired: let me know. I’d love to know what and where you found something new!
